Grovefield House is a wonderful venue for myself, as a photographer based near Slough. Joanne and Paul started off with a church wedding and went on to have their reception there in June this year. They are a wonderful couple and I was recommended to them through another Bride and Groom, Laura and Andy. They have recommended me several times and received many Marks and Spencer vouchers from my special scheme - go to my home page to have a look. I have also done a portrait session for Laura's family so it is wonderful to follow through over the years and keep in touch.

Party Photography Buckinghamshire: Jackie and I had a great evening taking photos and joining in the general atmosphere of a 50th Birthday Party celebration at the Holiday Inn in High Wycombe recently. We were asked to take some photos of guests on a background with lighting (my mobile studio setup) and then general atmosphere shots of the evening. Again, this blog post is in the wrong order as far as weddings, as I have done many since January, but have been a bit remiss in putting them all on my Blog so apologies for that! Karen and Ryan got married in January this year and were recommended from a friend's wedding Jackie and I photographed last year. They were having a smaller, more intimate wedding and then going on to a family party afterwards with more friends attending. They wanted a few formal shots of the ceremony and some of Karen getting ready, with a few fun ones thrown in, but just in and around the Registry Office, not going on to the reception venue. I tailored a package for them to capture what they wanted and, as it wasn't a busy time of the year, I was able to reduce the price. Here are a few shots from their wedding and many congratulations Karen and Ryan!

Family portraits in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and areas near us are very popular, especially what are called 'lifestyle portraits', either of couples, families, pets and newborn baby photos, as they are taken in the comfort or your own home (if suitable) or a favourite location. Examples of recent places have been by the daffodils in Hughenden Park and last year we did some in Penn Woods when the bluebells and rhododendrons were in bloom. Wedding Photography Sunningdale Park: I have just photographed the wedding at Northcote House for Jo and Jeremy last Saturday - it was an absolutely superb day. The De Vere venue of Northcote House, Sunningdale Park is so character filled, with a stone gallery looking over the main hall and beautiful grounds. I am just going to put a couple of pre-wedding photos up here for now, since the Bride and Groom haven't seen their photos yet! Another photo I am adding is one that Jo's Father took and sent to me. It shows Jo looking at one of my photos on the camera and Jackie, my wife, with her camera taking a peek.

Wedding photographer Marlow: Emily and Michael got married in March this year, in the same hotel Jackie and I wed just 7 years ago - the Compleat Angler in Marlow. A wonderful venue on the river they were just as lucky with the weather as we were. Emily looked stunning and it was really special to be at their wedding in a very favourite place of ours! We often return there for a drink or to watch the fireworks from the bridge on New Years' Eve.

Lorna and Graham had a late October Wedding at this lovely venue and I hope you'll agree Lorna looked stunning in that red dress! They had the ceremony only package as they were happy to have some 'couple' and group shots and then move on to their next destination but the photos certainly captured the important parts of their day.

Winter Wedding Photography in Buckinghamshire - Miranda and Gavin

Miranda and Gavin got married on one of the worst days for snow in the area of High Wycombe - 18th December 2010! I was standing in a foot of snow waiting for them to come out of the church, I took the Bride's Parents to the reception, as I am lucky enough to have a four-by-four vehicle. Anyone that also had that type of transport was OK but all the other cars were really struggling. So you see us wedding photographers do have to be flexible! Having said all that, the day went very smoothly considering and they had a wonderful time.

I have loaded up a couple of photos but have a look at the slideshow to get a real feel for the day, with the beautiful marquee they had for the reception. Best of luck for the future Miranda and Gavin!!

I'd like to publish the funny version of this, as it isn't easy making a professional video! Jackie (my wife) and I did take some clips of her this year walking and talking about our photography in the local woods. The Bluebells were out and it was quite nice and sunny. There are so many hazards you don't think about. The number of times we had to start again as she tripped over her words, tripped over the uneven ground and tried to get rid of flies buzzing in front of her face! As it was her first attempt she also either smiled too much or came across too seriously. We had a very good laugh, as we both have a good sense of humour, and I hope some of that comes across in the video but it is difficult! Have a go yourself one day and you will see what I mean. I much prefer being behind the camera than in front of it that's for sure!!

Wedding of Marc and Clare - we had an absolutely wonderful July Summer's day for Clare and Marc's wedding at a great venue. We stayed for the whole day so I was able to capture the sun shining through the veil at that fabulous time of the day where you get the last rays of sun and that beautiful light. I have done a black and white version of the same photo (which you can see in our latest newsletter below this article) but the colour one shows the sun well. Again, we had a lovely sunny day. Christine turned up in a purple brightly coloured camper van and the vicar even rode a 'mod' type scooter, which you will see a photo of the Bride and Groom sitting on above. So, it was a day for unusual and fun vehicles. The church in North Marston was very old and atmospheric and the marquee in a field was great - the Bride looked stunning and so did all her many bridesmaids. Marcia and Dan got married in April 2010 at the Pavilion in Lane End, High Wycombe. They had a wonderful sunny day and the Pagoda looked beautiful. It was decorated in chocolate brown colours, their theme for the day. Marcia made sure we were looked after as well, with plenty of food and, of course, a piece of chocolate wedding cake!

Pre Wedding Photography Huntswood Golf Course - Linda and John

Linda and John are getting married in July and so I set about taking some pre-wedding portraits at Huntswood Golf Course, so that I could pick out some nice locations for their big day. Also, it gave them a chance to get used to being more natural on camera and to get to know me, as their photographer, a little better. They had a lovely sports car and wanted that particular photo in front of the venue. This is then to be put in their framed signing mount for their guests to sign around the photo at the wedding. Looking forward to the wedding now!

Civil partnership of Vicky and Anita: We had a wonderful day in April for Vicky and Anita's wedding. It started off at the registry office and then a relax with drinks out on the terrace at the Crowne Plaza in Marlow. The children were playing and friends and relatives, some of whom had come from Ireland to celebrate the occasion, sat chatting. FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOS HIGH WYCOMBE AREA

We often have special offers on, where we run a portrait day and these come up regularly. If, however, you would want to get some friends together, with various family groups, and there are 4 groups minimum we can do your separate sessions for £45 each. So, for Mothers taking their children to a toddlers group or maybe some antenatal support group friends can all have their photos done on the same day. The £45 includes the time taken for the photos (around 30-45 mins per family), a complimentary mounted 10" x 8" mounted print and a private viewing at our offices after the event. You can then choose your complimentary favourite print and any other packs or photos or framed prints you may wish to purchase. This portrait sitting price does not just apply to families but also couples and teenagers for instance - as long as people can either make our set dates or are able to find 3 more groups of families or couple interested in having a portrait.

These photos are taken on a white background and have a relaxed, fun feel. Give us a call to book your time slots. Our next portrait day is likely to be in July or August but you can book your own date if you bring your minimum of 3 other groups along i.e. each group pays £45.

Charity Photography Event Buckinghamshire

I was asked by a local pet superstore, Jollyes, to take photos with some beautiful owls last Saturday. The owls came from the charity "The Wings of Freedom" and their aim is to interact with disabled and special needs children and their birds of prey. They brought along their Barn Owl and rather splendid Eagle Owl.

A percentage of the money from photos purchased went to the charity and it was very interesting to hear about the charity's work. Here are a few photos from the event and we hope to do more days in the near future.

Snow around Hazlemere

PHOTOS OF HONEYMOON IN THAILAND

Following our wedding at the Compleat Angler we went on honeymoon to Thailand and there were some wonderful scenes. The Grand Palace in Bangkok, with all its gold, shone and was absolutely stunning.

We also went to the island where they made the film "The beach" with Leonardo di Caprio and that was beautiful, although smaller than I imagined it would be. The boats that transport you there have massive engines from lorries and it is all quite a hectic atmosphere when they are all lined up together. The unusual rocks and mangroves on the journey there were amazing.

For wedding photographers Marlow is great, as there are so many lovely Wedding venues and scenic areas. Marlow is dear to my heart as I got married there 5 years' ago. I married Jackie at the Compleat Angler on the river and then went on to Bisham Abbey for our wedding reception. I have a couple getting married at Bisham Abbey this June and are looking forward to returning there to take the photos of their special day. I have also taken photos at the Compleat Angler and done wedding photography at the Crowne Plaza and Court Gardens. Here are some photos taken at one of the Weddings at the Crowne Plaza Hotel:

I went back to the Compleat Angler for New Years' Eve with Jackie to see in 2009. They always have a fireworks display and I took the opportunity to get the next photo. I have had a canvas done and it is on our lounge wall - a lovely reminder of our Wedding. Finally the smaller photos are of our Wedding Day (firstly we had wedding photography at the Compleat Angler and then at Bisham Abbey).

We chose Bisham Abbey because it is very old and atmospheric and has great wooden floors for dancing. We both do "Ceroc" which is like jive. At the time they were filming "Celebrity Fit Club" and had all these candles in the fireplace, which they kindly lit for us, along with the big scales that they weighed people on!):

Katie and Edward got married on a very rainy day in November. We just about managed to get some photos of Edward and his Best Man before the service but we couldn't get many more in the torrential rain. Still, they were very happy with the results and it was all very atmospheric in the church with the beautiful flowers everywhere. The Bride looked lovely in her white dress with a touch of fur. A new photography venture for late 2008 and early 2009 is images for Internet dating sites. This is proving very popular and it isn't surprising, considering the fact that a professional portrait is far more likely to attract possible partners than a feint, old out-of-date photo. If you are looking through possible matches, there is nothing more off putting than not being able to see that person clearly. Looks aren't everything we know but it is about giving a good first impression if you can.

The package is cheaper than our normal portrait prices, as we do several portraits (booked on an appointment only basis) in one day. If there are a couple of friends (or more) that want to come along together it will work out even cheaper per person. You can change outfits a bit and have a generally fun session so give us a call to find out more.

Pet Photography in High Wycombe

Our Pet Photography Event at Jollyes Pet Superstore in High Wycombe went very well, with some gorgeous and lovable dogs turning up for their portraits! One of them was even going to attend Crufts.
